Water Season Returns Across Lachlan Shire
Published on 01 October 2026
From a day at the local pool to skiing, fishing or boating on the lake, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the water season across the Lachlan Shire.
Swimming pools at Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo and Tottenham will open from Saturday 3 October for the 2026/27 season, welcoming the community back for another season.
Gum Bend Lake in Condobolin is now open for the ski season, while Lake Cargelligo continues to provide year-round opportunities for boating, fishing and camping along the lakeside
Visitors to Gum Bend Lake and Lake Cargelligo can also take advantage of free camping, providing an opportunity to spend a little longer in the Lachlan Shire and explore what the town and surrounding areas have to offer.
Lachlan Shire Council Mayor John Medcalf OAM said the Shire’s pools and waterways are an important part to the local communities and visitors during the warmer months.
“We’re fortunate to have a range of places across Lachlan Shire where people can enjoy the water, whether that’s spending a day at the local pool, heading out on the lake or enjoying a camping trip with family and friends.”
“With free camping available at Gum Bend Lake and Lake Cargelligo, it’s also a great option for visitors looking to spend a few days in Shire and experience more of what our community has to offer.”
Council reminds residents and visitors to take care around the water, follow boating and pool rules, supervise children closely and be mindful of others using these shared spaces.
