Inland Rail
The Lachlan Shire is set to benefit from the new freight rail connection between Melbourne and Brisbane – Inland Rail.
Inland Rail will transverse regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to avoid the congested Sydney network and it will connect our capital cities, farms, mines and ports, creating jobs, reducing supply chain costs and making Australian exports more competitive.
A proposal to develop the viability of a warehousing and logistics centre near Condobolin is currently being investigated under the Federal Government’s Interface Improvement Program. The proposed warehousing will allow freight to be stored and hold goods for collection within the region. The proposal identifies the potential to better service a growing volume of specialty crops being grown in the region and utilise Inland Rail to get products to domestic and export markets.
