Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Study

The Lachlan Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Study aims to;

  • Identify known Aboriginal cultural heritage values located within the Lachlan Shire 
  • Provide the Aboriginal community and wider Lachlan Shire, with a historical record of Aboriginal people in the area
  • Ensure that the input of the Aboriginal community is sought to ensure that places of significance to the community are known, and are considered for inclusion in the Schedule 5 of the Lachlan Local Environment Plan 
  • Assist Council to consider impacts to Aboriginal cultural heritage values in their planning decisions.
