Asbestos
All asbestos containing materials must be disposed of at a licensed facility. Lachlan Shire Council accepts asbestos at the Condobolin Waste Facility and Lake Cargelligo Waste Facility (please refer to the Landfill Fees and Charges sheet linked above for pricing).
All customers and/or contractors with large amounts of asbestos will need to book for disposal.
To find out more information about asbestos, the disposal of asbestos and to make a booking, please refer to the Asbestos page.
Prohibited items
The following items are prohibited and will not be accepted;
- Commercial and industrial hazardous waste
- Unwrapped asbestos
Condobolin Community Recycling Centre (CRC)
Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are EPA-funded permanent drop-off centres for common household hazardous waste (e.g. gas bottles) that cannot be disposed of via Council’s kerbside waste collection services.
A CRC operates at the Condobolin Waste Facility. This is a free of charge service to assist residents in safely disposing of household problem waste. This service is available all year round subject to the Condobolin Waste Facility’s operating hours.
What can I take to the CRC?
You can drop off the following items:
Only household quantities of these items will be accepted, i.e. a maximum container size of 20 litres or 20kg per waste type.
Dangerous goods and items other than those listed above will not be accepted.
Transporting waste
If using a trailer or roof racks, ensure that you cover or secure your load.
If transporting waste inside your vehicle, place a protective sheet, tarp or rag underneath the items to capture and contain any leakages or breakages.
Commercial operators
Businesses are not eligible to use Community Recycling Centres and should contact an appropriate waste disposal service directly. A useful source for searching companies and drop off locations for businesses is available on Planet Ark’s Business Recycling Information Service.
