Lachlan Shire Council is pleased to announce its continued involvement in the Sims Metal 2023 community art exhibition and competition – Waste 2 Art.  Waste 2 Art is a free waste inspired art competition and exhibition with a category for every member of the community from pre-school through to aspiring and professional artists.

Each year there is a specific waste stream that will be featured during Waste 2 Art and this year is the Year of Textiles & Fast Fashion which allows us to focus on specific problem wastes.

Textile is an umbrella term that includes various fibre-based materials, including yarns, threads, and all different fabric types. Textiles can be made from a range of different materials including natural/plant based, synthetic and semi-synthetic.
