How the Council's powers are awarded

Lachlan Shire Council (Council) has the power to delegate functions under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), except for specific functions that are reserved for Council and cannot be delegated, like making the rates and annual charges, setting non statutory fees, voting for expenditure on works, services or operations, and adopting financial statements.

Delegations to the Mayor

Certain functions of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) are delegated from Council to the Mayor.

These delegations may include functions regarding the management of Council meetings, specific expenditure, external relations and, the general authority of Council during recesses.

Sub-delegations from the General Manager to the Executive Leadership and staff
