Lachlan Shire Council is pleased to have local entries represented at the 2026 Waste 2 Art Regional Showcase, currently being held at the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum (GeoCentre) in Broken Hill.

The Regional Showcase brings together winning entries from Waste 2 Art competitions held across the NetWaste region, highlighting the creativity of communities across regional NSW.

At this year’s Regional Showcase, local entrant Catherine Morgan won the Educator’s Pick Award for her artwork, “Sushi with my Kids”.

Waste 2 Art is a community art exhibition and competition that encourages participants to transform waste and recycled materials into creative and thought-provoking artworks. This year’s theme, Shrink Your Footprint, encouraged students, artists and community groups to consider the impact of waste in everyday life and how the choices we make can help reduce our environmental footprint.

Lachlan Shire Council congratulates Catherine on this achievement and acknowledges all local participants who took part in this year’s Waste 2 Art competitions and represented the Lachlan Shire at the Regional Showcase.

The 2026 Waste 2 Art Regional Showcase will be on display in Broken Hill until 5 September 2026.
