A new gazebo has recently been constructed at the Condobolin Cemetery with a $20,000 donation from the Condobolin Garden Festival Inc. The Garden Festival members explained that they were keen to fund a project that would provide a lasting benefit for the community.
Members of the Garden Festival Committee suggested the gazebo as a shady, pleasant place for people to sit and reflect when visiting the cemetery. Their generosity has enabled Lachlan Shire Council to construct a spacious and attractive powder coated steel gazebo five metres in diameter on a concrete slab.
The recently completed gazebo is located in the Lawn Cemetery near the columbarium wall. The gazebo is furnished with bench seats and will withstand the elements to serve the community well into the future.
On accepting the donation, Council’s General Manager, Greg Tory, said “Council appreciates the contribution that Condobolin Garden Festival Inc. has made toward the facilities available at Condobolin Cemetery. This beautiful gazebo will be a lasting legacy of the Condobolin Garden Festival for the people of our town.”
