WASTE TO ART 2022 COMPETITION IS NOW OPEN
The Local Waste to Art competition is on again, and this year the theme materials are soft plastics.
The Sims Metal WASTE TO ART & DESIGN 2022 is an annual community art event that showcases imaginative works made from reused and recyclable waste materials. The aim is to challenge peoples’ perception about rubbish, celebrate reuse, minimise waste generation and increase recycling through arts and crafts.
A different waste item is featured as part of Waste to Art each year however, artworks do not have to use the theme waste, but an additional prize will be given to an artwork featuring this material.
The competition categories are:
- Two-Dimensional – Poster/Painting/Collage/Drawing
- Three-Dimensional – Sculpture/Installation/ Video /Soundscape
- Functional – furniture, craftworks, and wearable items made from recycled materials
Within these categories, there are sections for pre-school, primary school, secondary, community, and open (professional artist). Prizes will be awarded for the most inspiring artwork in each section/category.
Competition entries are now open and will close on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Winning entries will be entered in the regional finals.
All entries must be delivered to the Condobolin Library before the closing date and anyone in towns and villages outside of Condobolin who requires assistance in getting their artworks to the Library is asked to contact Council to arrange pick-up.

THE LOCAL EXHIBITION
All local entries will be on display at the local exhibition.

WHERE: Lake Cargelligo Library
THE REGIONAL EXHIBITION
All winners from the local competitions in the NetWaste region will be on display at the regional exhibition.
