Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan
24 Feb 2016 10:48 AM -
Lachlan Shire Council has engaged consultants to undertake a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMS&P) for Condobolin. The main objective in undertaking the study is to develop a Management Plan which reduces the impact of flooding on occupiers of flood prone property and reduces damages resulting from floods. The FRMS&P will build on the results of the Flood Study completed in 2008 which defined flooding patterns and flood levels in the Lachlan River at Condobolin under present day conditions.
The FRMS&P is set to run over the course of the next year. Council will in the near future issue a Community Questionnaire to residents seeking information on their flood experience and their views on measures which could be implemented to mitigate the flood risk. However, any residents who do not receive a Questionnaire and who wish to contribute information are invited to contact Council using the contact details below or visit Council’s website.
